The gear pump is a rotary pump that transports or pressurizes liquids by the change and movement of the working volume formed between the pump cylinder and meshing gears. It consists of two gears, the pump body, and front and rear covers, creating two sealed spaces. When the gears rotate, the volume on the disengaged side of the gears increases, creating a vacuum to draw in liquid, while the volume on the engaged side decreases, forcing the liquid into the pipeline. The suction chamber and discharge chamber are separated by the meshing line of the two gears. The pressure at the discharge outlet of the gear pump entirely depends on the magnitude of the resistance at the pump outlet.
