The fuel coarse filter is the primary filtration device of the diesel engine fuel system in diesel locomotives. Its core function is to pre-treat the fuel by filtering out large particulate contaminants in the diesel to protect downstream equipment such as the fuel pump. According to technical specifications, this device requires regular maintenance. During major overhauls, it needs to be disassembled, cleaned, and the seals replaced.
